Dr. Hossam Mahmoud, Medical Director at Regroup, was presented with the prestigious 2018 Member of the Year Award by the Illinois Psychiatric Society at its Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on January 27th at the University Club of Chicago. The Illinois Psychiatric Society (IPS), founded in 1938, is the state branch of the American Psychiatric Association. Representing over 1000 Illinois psychiatrists, the mission of IPS is to advocate for the highest quality care for patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders.
Describing Dr. Mahmoud's contribution, IPS stated, "Dr. Hossam Mahmoud represents everything IPS seeks in a member. He is engaged in the Society with energy and passion and is a leader in moving the field of psychiatry forward and increasing access to care for our patients through telehealth and education. Most importantly, is his passion for getting the word out to our members about things they need to know. Upon his return from Canada, he instantly re-engaged with IPS and eagerly took the reins of our IPS Mind Matters newsletter. IPS cannot exist without our members, and so our members must know the value of the organization. That value is clearly and brilliantly communicated by Dr. Mahmoud."
"We are thrilled that Dr. Mahmoud has been recognized by the Illinois Psychiatric Society for his commitment to the practice of psychiatry in Illinois. Dr. Mahmoud is a true advocate for innovation in the field of psychiatry and high-quality care for patients. Through his work at Regroup, he's positively impacted the lives of hundreds of patients around the country." said Justine Mitchell, Chief Clinical Officer at Regroup.
